Placing your order online
Unlike most other internet retailers, we do not take payment online at the time you click ‘submit’ on your shopping cart.
The reason for this is that we like to check stock and ensure everything is available before we take your money. If any item is not available this then gives us the opportunity to offer more info: -
- Estimated date of arrival for fresh stock
- Alternative items
- Split delivery or wait for the whole lot
We feel confident that this is the better approach as it keeps you fully informed about the status of your order before you have parted with your hard earned cash.

Online discounts
We offer a discounted price for all orders placed online. Our normal list price applies to all telephone orders. The reason for this is that we wish to ensure that all items are shipped correctly and very often verbal orders are misunderstood. This, in turn, means additional costs and disruption are incurred travelling the length and breadth of the country exchanging items.
Authorisation Hold
When paying by a card it is very important that the address you give us matches exactly the address on your card statement. If you do not, once we have started the payment request it may get rejected by your bank and the payment amount is then put into Authorization Hold meaning that neither we, nor you, have the money.
