Useful Data – Doors
General Specification
Doors – All doors we supply are built from Kiln Dried Lumber stocks.
Exterior Dowel Jointed Doors – will normally be supplied 1.55" thickness (although there is the occasional exception supplied in 1¾" ).
Exterior Mortice & Tenon Jointed Doors – will normally be supplied 1¾" thickness. All panels are silicone or mastic sealed to improve weather tightness.
Hardwood Door Pairs – will normally be supplied 1.55" and are dowel jointed (although there is the occasional exception supplied in 44mm. They are suitable for use internally or externally and all are ready rebated. You may consider the Document ‘L’ regulations for application.
Pine Door Pairs – will normally be supplied 1.4" and are Dowel Jointed. They are suitable for use internally only and all are ready rebated.
Hardwood Internal Doors – are normally dowel Jointed. All Imperial sizes are 1.4" thickness. Some of the Metric Sizes ( 20.7" / 24.65" / 726 mm / 32½" X 80.3" ) are supplied in 1.55" thickness. If you have any doubts please enquire about the exact model you require.
Pine Internal Doors – are normally dowel Jointed. All Imperial sizes are 1.4" Thickness. Some of the Metric Sizes ( 20.7" / 24.65" / 726 mm / 32½" X 80.3" ) are supplied in 1.55" thickness. If you have any doubts please enquire about the exact model you require.
Purpose Made Doors – are almost always Mortice & Tenon Construction. They are individually crafted to your requirements. Materials used are Swedish Pines, African Sapele Hardwood, American White Ash, American White Oak etc. When asking for a quotation please offer as much information as possible in order that we may quote accurately. A line drawing or technical drawing would be very useful. If you are trying to replicate an existing design or perhaps duplicate an original Door, Window or other joinery product a digital photograph of that original would be extremely useful. We will endeavor to replicate a replacement as close to the original as we possibly can. Details can be submitted by E-Mail, Post, Fax.
